Biomedical Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Design and Development: Create and innovate new medical equipment, devices, and systems, such as prosthetics, pacemakers, imaging technology, and diagnostic tools.
• Research: Conduct research to improve existing medical technologies and explore new applications in healthcare.
• Testing and Evaluation: Test and evaluate prototypes and new equipment to ensure they meet safety, functionality, and regulatory standards.
• Installation and Maintenance: Install, calibrate, and maintain biomedical equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support, troubleshoot malfunctions, and repair faulty devices.
• Collaboration: Work with other medical professionals, scientists, and researchers to understand their needs and develop solutions.
• Training: Train hospital staff, technicians, and other personnel on how to use new and existing equipment correctly and safely.
• Documentation: Document design specifications, test results, maintenance logs, and other project information.
