Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in structural design and analysis, specifically using STAAD.Pro and Tekla Structures. This role is integral to the engineering and prefab design process, ensuring structural integrity, compliance with Australian standards, and alignment with ARBT's modular construction principles.

The candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop structurally sound and prefab-ready designs while coordinating remotely with ARBT's Australian engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, and prefabricated modular elements using STAAD.Pro.
• Prepare and review detailed 3D structural models and shop drawings using Tekla Structures.
• Ensure all designs are compliant with relevant Australian Standards (AS/NZS) and the National Construction Code (NCC).
• Collaborate with architectural, MEP, and construction teams to ensure structural coordination and clash resolution.
• Prepare design reports, structural calculations, connection details, and fabrication-ready documentation.
• Evaluate project requirements, interpret engineering briefs, and deliver accurate, cost-effective structural solutions.
• Optimize designs for off-site manufacturing, transportation, and modular assembly.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering processes.
• Support QA/QC processes and design validation checks throughout all project stages.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to junior structural modelers and engineers.

Role Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with hands-on expertise in STAAD.Pro and Tekla Structures.
• Strong knowledge of structural systems including steel framing, reinforced concrete, precast, and modular components.
• Experience in Australian codes (e.g., AS 3600, AS 4100, AS 1170 series) and NCC is highly preferred (training can be provided if needed).
• Experience with prefabricated/modular construction and digital fabrication workflows is an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in other structural tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam) is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly for remote collaboration with international teams.
