Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Shopify Hydrogen Developer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in Shopify custom development, React-based storefronts, and headless commerce architecture.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining high-performance custom Hydrogen storefronts integrated with Shopify's backend via the Storefront API or GraphQL API.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Shopify Hydrogen storefronts using React, Remix, and GraphQL.
- Integrate Hydrogen apps with Shopify Storefront API, Admin API, and third-party APIs.
- Implement dynamic, high-performing, SEO-friendly, and mobile-responsive e-commerce experiences.
- Work with designers and backend teams to translate Figma/Adobe XD designs into functional components.
- Optimize frontend performance (Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse scores, lazy loading, caching).
- Implement server-side rendering (SSR) and edge rendering for faster content delivery.
- Manage version control using Git and CI/CD pipelines for deployments.
- Collaborate with backend / Shopify API / headless CMS) teams to ensure smooth integration.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks and API integration issues.
- Stay up to date with Shopify Hydrogen, Oxygen hosting, and emerging frontend technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in Shopify development.
- 2+ years of experience with Shopify Hydrogen or headless Shopify setups.
- Strong expertise in , Remix, TypeScript, , and GraphQL.
- In-depth understanding of Shopify Storefront API and Admin API.
- Proficiency in Shopify Liquid (for theme-level fallback integrations).
- Experience with server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG).
- Strong understanding of REST/GraphQL API integrations, caching, and data fetching strategies.
- Experience with Oxygen, Vercel, or similar serverless deployment environments.
- Familiarity with SEO, performance optimization, and web accessibility standards.
- Proficient with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile workflows.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Shopify Plus and enterprise-level integrations (ERP, CRM, PIM).
- Knowledge of or other headless frameworks (for hybrid environments).
- Familiarity with GraphQL code generation, Hydrogen UI, and React Server Components (RSC).
- Understanding of CDN edge rendering and Shopify Oxygen hosting optimizations.
- Experience integrating third-party services like Algolia, Klaviyo, or Contentful.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
