Were Blurn/Bismath, a global digital marketing and web development agency with clients in Australia, the UK, and the USA. We are looking for an experienced Senior Drupal Developer to join our extended team on a 6-12 month initial contract, with the potential for extension upon successful performance. This is a long-term, stable opportunity for developers who enjoy working independently while contributing to a collaborative international team.

About the Project:

We will be working with a leading travel and tourism company that provides end-to-end travel solutions including holiday packages, flight/hotel bookings, and customized itineraries. The project involves enhancing and maintaining the company's Drupal-powered digital platforms to deliver a seamless, secure, and engaging travel booking experience.

The platform serves thousands of customers daily, requiring robust scalability, performance, and integration with multiple third-party services such as payment gateways, booking APIs, CRM, and marketing tools. This is a high-visibility project where you'll play a key role in shaping the future of the company's digital travel ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver end-to-end Drupal-based projects (Drupal 8/9/10).
• Develop, customize, and maintain Drupal modules, themes, and distributions.
• Architect and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing Drupal solutions.
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Perform site migrations, upgrades, and performance optimizations.
• Implement best practices for coding, security, and site performance.
• Integrate Drupal with APIs, external systems, and third-party applications (travel booking systems, CRMs, payment gateways).
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers (if required).

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years of Drupal development experience (Drupal 7/8/9/10).
• Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Twig.
• Expertise in custom module & theme development.
• Solid understanding of Drupal APIs, hooks, and architecture.
• Experience with Drupal Commerce, Views, Panels, Paragraphs, Layout Builder.
• Hands-on experience with Drupal security best practices and performance optimization.
• Experience in site building, configuration management, and deployment workflows.
• Familiarity with Git, Composer, Drush, CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in migrating websites from Drupal 7/8 to Drupal 9/10.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results under deadlines.

Tech Stack You'll Work With:

• CMS Expertise: Drupal 7/8/9/10 – advanced experience in core, custom module development, theming, distributions.
• Backend Mastery: PHP 7/8, Symfony framework, MySQL/MariaDB – designing scalable and secure architectures.
• Frontend: HTML5, CSS3, Sass, JavaScript (ES6+), jQuery, Twig templates – delivering responsive, high-quality UIs.
• DevOps & Tools: Git (GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket), Composer, Drush, Docker, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Hosting & Cloud: AWS, Azure, Pantheon, Acquia Cloud (with experience optimizing for performance & uptime).
• Caching & Performance: Varnish, Memcached, Redis, CDN (Cloudflare/Akamai).
• Security & Compliance: Advanced knowledge of Drupal security, OWASP standards, GDPR compliance.
• Integrations: RESTful APIs, GraphQL, Payment Gateways, CRM/ERP integrations.
• Advanced Modules & Features: Drupal Commerce, Paragraphs, Layout Builder, Views, Panels.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Acquia Certification (Drupal Developer/Architect) is a plus.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with cloud hosting (AWS, Azure, Pantheon, Acquia Cloud).
• Knowledge of headless Drupal and decoupled architectures (React, Vue, ).
