Deputy Manager

Key Focus

The primary focus of this role is to timely supply the metallic tools to the production team.(RFQ to Production)

Roles and Responsibilities

• Ensure the availability of tools and give support for all fixtures and gauges for new projects.
• Ensure that manufacturing orders are processed effectively without any error and zero accidents.
• Ensure delivery of tools on time based on criticality - critical tool within 9 months with more than 90%

compliance and semi-critical/normal tool within 6 months with more than 95% compliance.

• Ensure rejection control on Tools & moulds with minimum percentage of errors.
• Update design of tools as per the changes requested by the user departments and promptly resolve customer

complaints.

• Design and Develop Tools for All plants in Legrand along with Costing Knowledge .
• Prepare scope of supply of tools and keep track of the status of tool/moulds development.
• Give technical support to maintenance department for machine spares and for press parts and fixtures to

vendors.

• Periodically check maintenance of the Tools and initiate corrective and preventive actions.
• Work with ME department to ensure productivity of various projects and validation of OEE.
• Collaborate with QA department regarding the validation of the samples.
• Co-ordinate with procurement and material department regarding availability of existing tools and

dispatching to supplier for trials.

• Adhere to ISO 9002:2008 and ISO 14001 guidelines.

Qualifications; role specific knowledge and experience:

• Mandatory Diploma in tool design/tool and die making/PG Diploma in Tool Design Tool Engineering
• Relevant experience of years in tool design in a similar Switch gear industry
• Good knowledge of usage of design software like AutoCAD, Solid Works, NX Creo, Catia Mandatory
• Knowledge of CNC programming.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
