Head Barista

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Head Barista with in-depth knowledge of coffee origins, brewing methods, and drink variations. The ideal candidate will be a skilled professional who can lead by example, elevate the coffee program, and ensure every cup served is of the highest quality. You will play a key role in maintaining consistency, and enhancing the overall coffee experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities: Coffee Expertise & Preparation

• Prepare a full range of coffee beverages, including espresso-based drinks, pour-overs, cold brews, and alternative brewing methods.
• Demonstrate expert knowledge of coffee beans, roast profiles, grind sizes, extraction, and milk texturing.
• Customize drinks according to customer preferences and educate guests on different coffee options and origins.
• Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all drinks.

Leadership & Staff Training

• Train, mentor, and assess baristas to ensure high standards of coffee preparation and customer service.
• Conduct regular cuppings and tastings to improve team knowledge and palate development.
• Lead by example during busy shifts and provide support in a hands-on manner.

Customer Service & Education

• Engage with customers to share coffee knowledge and build rapport.
• Address customer feedback or complaints professionally and promptly.
• Promote specialty drinks, seasonal offerings, and coffee education through tastings or events.
• Ensure the coffee bar is clean, organized, and adheres to food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning checklists for equipment and the bar area.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 2 years of barista experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or senior barista role.
• Expert knowledge of espresso and manual brewing techniques
• Strong understanding of coffee bean origins, flavor profiles, and drink customization.
• Excellent milk steaming and latte art skills.
• Passion for coffee and a commitment to continued learning.
• Ability to train and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Great communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:

• Barista certifications (e.g., SCA, Barista Hustle).
• Experience with dialling in espresso and adjusting grind settings based on bean profile.
• Experience with customer engagement or hosting coffee tastings.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25, ₹30,000.00 per month
