Job Title: Steel Structure Designer

Experience: 5 - 8 Years

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Steel Structure Designer with 58 years of experience in designing and detailing structural steel for process plant projects (e.g., chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, or industrial plants). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in preparing 3D models, fabrication drawings, and connection details for complex process structures such as equipment supports, pipe racks, platforms, and shelters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare general arrangement (GA), fabrication, and erection drawings for steel structures in process plants.
  • Develop accurate 3D models of structural steel using Tekla Structures / Advance Steel / AutoCAD 3D.
  • Design and detail pipe racks, platforms, equipment supporting structures, stairways, handrails, and walkways.
  • Coordinate closely with civil, piping, equipment, and electrical disciplines to ensure clash-free and constructible designs.
  • Prepare Bill of Materials (BoM) and ensure all design deliverables comply with project specifications and standards.
  • Review client and vendor drawings, identify inconsistencies, and propose design optimizations.
  • Apply relevant international design standards such as AISC, BS, EN, and IS codes for process plant steel structures.
  • Provide technical support during fabrication and erection stages to resolve design and detailing issues.
  • Participate in internal and client design review meetings and contribute to design improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil / Structural / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 58 years of experience in structural steel design and detailing for process or industrial plants.
  • Proficiency in Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, and/or Advance Steel.
  • Strong understanding of process plant layouts, equipment foundations, and piping interfaces.
  • Knowledge of connection detailing, fabrication standards, and weld symbols.
  • Familiarity with material specifications, load combinations, and structural analysis basics.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications (Added Advantage):

  • Experience in EPC / industrial plant design environments.
  • Exposure to European (EN), American (AISC), or Indian (IS) codes and standards
