Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Automation Test Engineer to design, develop, and execute automated test scripts that ensure the quality and reliability of software applications. The ideal candidate will work closely with developers, business analysts, and QA teams to define testing strategies, enhance automation frameworks, and streamline the testing process across the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile, and API-based applications.
  • Build, enhance, and manage test automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or TestNG.
  • Integrate automation tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to identify test cases suitable for automation.
  • Conduct functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
  • Identify, log, and track software defects using tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or Azure Test Plans.
  • Ensure automation scripts are aligned with project priorities and testing standards.
  • Perform API automation testing using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or Karate.
  • Generate test reports, metrics, and dashboards for tracking quality trends.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and QA review meetings in Agile/Scrum environments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in software testing, with at least 2+ years in test automation.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).

  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as:

  • Selenium WebDriver / TestNG / JUnit

  • Cypress / Playwright / Puppeteer
  • Appium (for mobile automation)

  • Postman / RestAssured (for API automation)

  • Experience with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, etc.).

  • Understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile / Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

  • Experience with Performance Testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD integration and DevOps tools (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Exposure to Cloud testing environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow, Behave).
  • Test automation certification (e.g., ISTQB Test Automation Engineer, Certified Selenium Professional).
