Retail Salesman / Saleswoman – Job Description

Position: Retail Sales Executive (Male/Female)

Department: Sales

Industry: Retail / Showroom (Toys / Consumer Products / General Retail)

1. Job Purpose

To assist customers in the showroom, promote products, provide excellent customer service, and achieve sales targets while maintaining store cleanliness and product display.

2. Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Greet customers and understand their needs.
• Provide product information, demonstrations, and suggestions.
• Handle customer queries politely and professionally.
• Assist in billing and packaging whenever required.

Sales & Promotion

• Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
• Upselling and cross-selling products to increase revenue.
• Inform customers about offers, discounts, and new arrivals.

Showroom Management

• Maintain display shelves, racks, and product arrangements.
• Ensure stock availability and report low stock to the manager.
• Keep the showroom clean, organized, and visually appealing.
• Assist in inventory counting and stock-taking.

Billing & Cash Handling (if assigned)

• Operate POS / billing system.
• Ensure accurate cash/card transactions.
• Maintain proper bills and receipts.

3. Skills Required

• Good communication skills
• Customer handling skills
• Basic product knowledge
• Positive attitude & teamwork
• Ability to work under pressure
• Basic computer/billing knowledge (preferred)

4. Qualification

• Minimum 10th / 12th pass
• Experience in retail sales preferred but not compulsory

5. Work Hours & Environment

• Showroom working hours as per company policy
• Weekend & festival season working flexibility required
• Standing job with customer interaction throughout the day
