Job Title: Camera Assistant

Department: Media / Audio-Visual Team

Location: Mogappair

Reports To: Videographer / Media Head

Job Purpose:

The Camera Assistant will support the Videographer/Camera Operator in handling, setting up, and maintaining camera equipment during photo and video shoots for school events, classroom recordings, promotional content, and other media projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in setting up cameras, lighting, and related equipment before shoots.
  • Ensure all camera gear, batteries, lenses, and memory cards are prepared and available.
  • Support in positioning and moving cameras as instructed by the Videographer.
  • Handle equipment safely and ensure proper storage after use.
  • Assist in maintaining video/audio quality during shoots.
  • Carry out basic troubleshooting of cameras and accessories.
  • Coordinate with event teams to ensure smooth recording during programs.
  • Manage data transfer and backup of recorded footage when required.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional guidelines and timelines for all media projects.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Minimum qualification: Graduate / Diploma in Media, Visual Communication, Film Studies, or related field (preferred).
  • Prior experience as a Camera Assistant/Media Support (internship or professional) is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of camera operation, lenses, and audio-visual equipment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and follow directions accurately.
  • Flexibility to work during events, weekends, or extended hours if required.
