Role: L2 Support Network Engineer

Location: Chennai

Immediate Joiner to 15 days

Role & responsibilities

  1. In-depth knowledge of switch commands, including VLANs, STP (Spanning Tree Protocol), Ether Channel, trucking, and related technologies.
  2. Strong expertise in troubleshooting methodologies at the Data Link Layer, resolving issues such as Layer 2 loops, MAC flaps, BPDU guard, and others.
  3. Configure and manage network infrastructure across Cisco, Fortinet, SonicWALL, Unifi, open-source firewalls, and Linux-based networking platforms.
  4. Configure and monitor firewalls, wireless access points (APs), and network management systems (NMS) to ensure secure and optimized network performance.
  5. Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, and VPN networks.
  6. Troubleshoot network issues using tools such as ping, traceroute, and Wireshark.
  7. Implement and maintain network protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, SNMP, SSH, BGP, OSPF, and NTP.
  8. Strong understanding of VPN technologies and secure remote access solutions.
  9. Analyze and resolve network incidents, perform root cause analysis, and provide effective technical documentation for escalation or long-term resolution.
  10. Experience with Linux operating systems, including RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Alma Linux.
  11. Hands-on troubleshooting experience with system performance, services, storage, networking, and security issues.
  12. Implement and maintain network monitoring, alerting, and reporting systems to proactively detect issues and analyze capacity trends.
  13. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  14. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network reliability and scalability in multi-vendor environments.
