Role Overview
As a Senior Associate –
Payroll
, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing end-to-end payroll operations for all employees across locations. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, statutory compliance, employee query management, and continuous improvement of payroll processes. This role demands a detail-oriented professional with deep understanding of payroll systems, labor laws, and employee lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Management

Manage end-to-end payroll processing for monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles.

Validate payroll inputs including attendance, overtime, incentives, bonuses, and deductions.

Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, reimbursements, and benefits as per organizational policies.

Conduct pre- and post-payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Process final settlements (F&F) for exited employees.

  • Compliance & Statutory Reporting

Ensure timely submission and compliance with all statutory requirements including
PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Income Tax (TDS), and Gratuity
.

Prepare and file statutory returns and coordinate with consultants or authorities as required.

Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and implement updates in payroll systems and processes accordingly.

  • Systems & Process Management

Manage payroll through
SAP / other ERP platforms
ensuring data integrity and system efficiency.

Coordinate with HR, Finance, and IT teams for smooth integration of employee data and payroll information.

Implement process automation and continuous improvements to enhance accuracy and turnaround time.

  • Reporting & Analysis

Prepare monthly payroll MIS, reconciliation statements, and variance analysis.

Support finance teams in payroll accounting, provisions, and audit requirements.

Assist in budget planning and forecasting related to payroll cost and headcount movements.

  • Employee Support & Audits

Address employee queries related to salary, deductions, and tax efficiently and confidentially.

Support
internal and external audits
by preparing necessary documentation and reconciliations.

Ensure data confidentiality and adherence to data protection policies at all times.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

(Master's degree or certification in Payroll/Finance preferred.)

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in end-to-end payroll management, preferably within a shared services or multinational environment.
  • Proficiency in SAP (Payroll Module) or equivalent payroll/HRMS software is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws, taxation, and statutory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines.
