Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented 
Senior Payroll Lead
 to oversee and manage payroll operations across multiple entities while ensuring end-to-end statutory compliance. This role requires a proven ability to manage payroll teams, streamline processes, liaise with stakeholders, and maintain the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise with payroll software such as GreytHR or Zoho Payroll and strong knowledge of Indian payroll and labour laws.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Management & Leadership:

  • Lead and manage end-to-end payroll processing for multiple entities, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Supervise payroll executives/associates and provide guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Validate employee data, attendance, variable components, and reconciliations prior to payroll disbursement.
  • Ensure robust controls are in place for error-free payroll processing.

Compliance & Governance:

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as PF, ESI, PT, Income Tax, LWF, Gratuity, and other applicable laws.
  • Oversee preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory returns.
  • Ensure timely issuance of Form 16 and other statutory documents.
  • Stay updated with amendments in tax and labor regulations and ensure company policies are aligned.

Audit, Reporting & Reconciliation:

  • Conduct periodic payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare payroll MIS reports, dashboards, and analytics for management.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts with finance and statutory deductions.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary records and explanations.

Employee Experience & Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as an escalation point for employee payroll and tax-related queries.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors to resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Ensure clear communication of payroll policies, tax benefits, and statutory guidelines to employees.

Process Improvements & Automation:

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
  • Drive automation and adoption of digital payroll solutions (GreytHR, Zoho Payroll, or equivalent).
