Organisation

Primarily a software firm, which is HQ in the US and is in the business for close to 10 years. They specialise in an Ai ML product, which is used primarily by the Oil & Gas, Energy and Engineering industries worldwide, for making Technical Bid Evaluation process, super efficient. The Ai product helps engineers in making quick decision by analysing the bids for procurement.

We are looking for a Product Owner who can operate at the intersection of Product Management, Engineering, AI/LLM capabilities and Pre-Sales.

This role will work closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Business teams to enhance our AI driven platform that supports Engineering and Procurement teams in evaluation, vendor management and material procurement work processes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Product Ownership

  2. Gather, analyse, and convert engineering & EPC/Oil & Gas workflows into structured product requirements.

  3. Create detailed user stories, PRDs, acceptance criteria, wireframes, and workflow documents.
  4. Own the development backlog prioritization, sprint planning and release readiness.
  5. Collaborate with engineering to clarify functional requirements and test features before release.

  6. Conduct UAT sessions with internal teams and customers.

  7. AI/LLM Capabilities

  8. Work with engineering teams to define AI/LLM driven features such as extraction, summarization, comparison etc.

  9. Domain Understanding

  10. Good understanding of core engineering & procurement workflows.

  11. Translate domain insights into product capabilities for engineering and procurement user.

  12. Collaborate with SMEs to validate solution.

  13. Pre-Sales & Customer Engagement

  14. Participate in lead discussions, requirement walkthroughs, and product discovery sessions.

  15. Conduct end-to-end product demos tailored to customer needs.
  16. Manage and Coordinate POCs/Pilots, track feedback and drive adoption
  17. Act as a Product Expert to answer domain, functional and technical queries.

Requirements:

  1. 5-8 years of experience as Product Owner
  2. EPC / Oil & Gas industry Owner Experience is preferred
  3. Experience in Material Requisition / Technical Bid Evaluation / Commercial Bid Evaluation / Supplier/Contract Management - highly preferred
  4. Bachelors or masters degree in mechanical, Chemical, Civil or Electrical Engineering.
  5. Experience in EPC, Industrial software, Supply chain, engineering tools or AI-driven B2B SaaS is a strong advantage.
  6. Strong communication, presentation and storytelling abilities to explain complex ideas to engineering and business users.
  7. Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  8. Familiarity with tools such as SAP Ariba, Oracle ACONEX, AVEVA, Hexagon or similar engineering applications.
  9. Excellent communication, presentation and story telling abilities to articulate complex ideas clearly across technical and business audiences.
