Key Responsibilities:Site Supervision and Coordination:Overseeing the installation and commissioning of GIS equipment, including circuit breakers, isolators, bus bars, and transformers.

This includes coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders on the site. Engineering Compliance:Ensuring that all installation and commissioning activities adhere to relevant engineering standards, regulations, and safety protocols. Testing and Commissioning:Performing pre-commissioning tests, ensuring the proper functionality of GIS equipment, and coordinating commissioning activities with the utility.

Troubleshooting:Identifying and resolving issues or defects in the GIS equipment or installation process. Documentation:Preparing detailed records of installation, testing, and commissioning activities, including as-built drawings and reports. Safety:Ensuring that all work is conducted in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all relevant safety regulations and guidelines.

Vendor Coordination:Working closely with GIS equipment suppliers, including providing technical support and resolving any issues that may arise during the installation process. Documentation Management:Maintaining and managing all relevant documentation for the GIS substation project, including drawings, specifications, and test reports. Skills and Qualifications:Engineering Degree:A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is typically required.

Knowledge of GIS Equipment:Extensive knowledge of GIS components, their functions, and maintenance requirements. Project Management:Experience in managing and coordinating projects, including site supervision and stakeholder management. Testing and Commissioning:Experience in performing pre-commissioning tests and commissioning GIS equipment.

Troubleshooting:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues. Communication:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders. Safety:A strong understanding of safety regulations and practices in the electrical industry.

Technical Software:Proficiency in using relevant technical software and tools, such as CAD software for substation design and testing software for GIS equipment.
