Role & responsibilities

BIM Modeling & Coordination

  • Develop and manage 3D BIM models for mechanical systems in substations using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Coordinate with electrical, civil, and structural teams to ensure integrated and clash-free designs.

Follow project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and maintain Modeling standards.

Equipment Library Creation

  • Create parametric and data-rich BIM families for key mechanical equipment such as:
  • Air Handling Units (AHUs)
  • Fire Pumps and Jockey Pumps
  • Exhaust Fans, Ventilation Units
  • Valves, Pipes, and Fixtures

Ensure families are compliant with manufacturer specifications and project standards.

Mechanical System Design

  • Model complete HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and ventilation layouts.
  • Design and model plumbing systems including water supply, drainage, and sanitary systems.
  • Develop fire protection systems including sprinkler layouts, pump rooms, and risers.

Integrate mechanical systems within the overall substation layout and architecture.

Documentation & Deliverables

  • Generate layout plans, elevations, sections, and detailed construction drawings.
  • Prepare and update Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on the BIM model.

Support the creation of shop drawings, IFC drawings, and as-built documentation.

Quality Control & Standards

  • Ensure all models and drawings comply with IS/IEC/NBC standards, client specifications, and internal QA/QC protocols.
  • Conduct model audits and clash detection using tools like Navisworks or BIM 360.

Maintain version control and documentation logs.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in BIM for mechanical systems, preferably in substation or industrial projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, and BIM collaboration platforms.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Familiarity with LOD specifications, BIM standards, and parametric Modeling.

Excellent communication and coordination skills.
