As a Engineering Manager, you will balance hands-on technical leadership with strategic management of multiple teams. You'll drive architectural vision for complex products, oversee critical technical decisions, and mentor senior engineers through intricate technical and organizational challenges. Simultaneously, you will guide the growth of multiple teams, align with senior leadership on product strategy, and ensure successful delivery of large-scale initiatives.

This role demands someone who can think strategically at an organizational level, execute effectively across multiple projects, and maintain a strong connection to the technical details.

What You'll Do

• Lead multiple high-impact engineering teams building complex, secure, performant, and user-friendly products with broad scope.
• Contribute to and review production code across frontend (React/TypeScript) and backend (Java/Kotlin) systems, focusing on critical components and architectural decisions.
• Drive technical design and architecture for large-scale systems and complex user-facing features, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Partner with Product Management, Design, and senior leadership to define and deliver on strategic product roadmaps and long-term vision.
• Establish and enforce best practices in code quality, testing, security, and system performance across multiple teams.
• Mentor and develop senior engineers and technical leads, fostering a culture of technical excellence and leadership.
• Recruit, retain, and grow top engineering talent, building and scaling high-performing teams while fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Who You Are

• A highly experienced technical leader who excels at solving complex problems and driving significant engineering outcomes across multiple teams.
• Deeply experienced in building scalable, modern web applications and complex systems using Java/Kotlin and React/TypeScript at an organizational level.
• Passionate about mentoring and developing senior engineers and technical leaders, helping them grow and lead through hands-on, strategic guidance.
• A strategic partner to Product, UX, and senior leadership, capable of translating high-level business goals into comprehensive technical strategies and roadmaps.
• Highly collaborative and grounded, with a strong preference for in-person interaction and real-time strategic discussions.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in full stack software development, including leading complex, user-facing product initiatives with significant scope.
• 5+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager or Technical Lead, with demonstrated experience managing multiple teams and complex projects.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java/Kotlin and JavaScript/TypeScript, including advanced architecture, design patterns, and implementation of large-scale systems.
• Extensive experience with API design, frontend/backend integration, and CI/CD pipelines, with a focus on scalability, security, and reliability.
• Proven ability to influence organizational direction, mentor senior engineers, and drive technical excellence across multiple teams.

• Extensive experience in building and scaling complex, modern web applications using Java/Kotlin and React/TypeScript in a high-growth environment.
• Exceptional partnership skills with Product, UX, and senior leadership, capable of developing and executing long-term technical strategies aligned with business goals.
• Strong strategic thinking and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive alignment across teams.
• Collaborative and highly effective communicator, with a preference for in-person strategic discussions and team building.
