Job Purpose: Responsible for inhouse seasoning manufacturing across own plants and contractual manufacturing units by closely working with manufacturing, planning, quality and product development team. Undertake initiatives to optimize cost and innovate manufacturing process for seasoning & blending.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Develop, maintain and improve the Quality assurance and Food Safety Management system for Seasoning blending operation.
  2. Drive the FMEA approach to ensure first time right execution and defect free product manufacturing
  3. Anchor the PQRS for in-house seasoning in collaboration with LSTC and Plant teams
  4. Support the Plant team fin building process capability & ensuring seasoning consistency and improvement
  5. Conduct the Raw material and external seasoning vendor audits at defined interval to drive continuous improvement.
  6. Ensure compliance with internal training programs and organize external training initiatives on sensory competency development of team
  7. Ensure the FSSAI requirement compliance for In-house seasonings and its raw materials.
  8. Development of new vendors for key raw materials to get competitive advantage in terms of cost and quality
  9. Closely work with Vendors to resolve incoming raw material quality issues, while ensuring reduction in overall rejections and avoiding frequent conditional approvals
  10. Ensure reduction in raw material write offs by regularly validating expiry dates
  11. Work closely with all manufacturing units to ensure 100% compliance to in-house seasoning & blending protocols and specifications

  12. Generate monthly reports of RM quality, in-house seasoning production, quality and freshness, and share valuable insights

  13. Visit manufacturing units to train teams
  14. Ensure integration of Blending protocols and RM & seasoning specifications in Quality Management System
  15. Automation of seasoning batching and blending processes using RFID systems
  16. Ensure compliance of RM and seasoning storage protocols in all the manufacturing units

  17. Ensure inhouse seasoning freshness by closely working with planning and manufacturing teams

  18. Anchor FMS planning, execution and necessary approvals for new inhouse seasoning while ensuring zero rejections and write offs
  19. Work closely with projects team and manufacturing units to improve in-house seasoning manufacturing infrastructure.

  20. Ensure successful commissioning of smaller blending system for low volume variants.

  21. Anchor cost optimization initiatives for inhouse seasoning manufacturing

  22. Extend necessary support to PD team during new in-house seasoning development.

Knowledge:

  1. Basic understanding of Seasoning manufacturing processes, Quality Parameters, Quality tools Productivity, regulatory, costs & throughput etc.
  2. Knowledge of commercial processes like budgeting, costing, ROI computation, IRR computation, hurdle rates etc.
  3. Knowledge of process improvement tools like TQM, TPM, Six sigma, Kaizen.

Experience:

  1. Experience of 6 to 8 years with at least 3 years as the production in charge for seasoning manufacturing . Candidates from Foods Industry would be preferred.
