Job Title: Purchase Officer

Department: Procurement / Supply Chain

Reporting To: Purchase Manager

Job Purpose:

To manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required by the organization in a cost-effective, timely, and efficient manner while ensuring quality and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate reliable vendors and suppliers.
  • Obtain quotations, compare prices, negotiate terms, and finalize purchase orders.
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials as per production/operational requirements.
  • Maintain proper documentation of purchase records, agreements, and supplier details.
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (Production, Accounts, Stores, etc.) to understand requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements during procurement.
  • Track inventory levels and place orders to avoid stock-outs or over-purchasing.
  • Assist in developing and implementing procurement strategies to optimize costs.
  • Handle purchase-related queries, discrepancies, and resolve supplier issues.
  • SAP software knowledge.

Skills & Competencies Required:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/Purchase software.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Vendor management and relationship-building skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in purchase/procurement (manufacturing industry preferred).
  • Knowledge of GST, taxation, and import/export procedures will be an added advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25, ₹35,000.00 per month
