About The Role
Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide significant technical expertise in architecture planning and design of the concerned tower (platform, database, middleware, backup etc) as well as managing its day-to-day operations
- We are seeking a highly skilled Wireless LAN Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in implementing and configuring Catalyst 9800 Wireless Controllers, conducting RF studies, and designing wireless networks. Strong migration experience, particularly transitioning from Aruba to Cisco or AirOS to Catalyst, is essential. Familiarity with DNAC, SDA, and Meraki is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and configure Catalyst 9800 Wireless Controllers.
Conduct RF studies and design wireless networks.
Migrate wireless networks from Aruba to Cisco or AirOS to Catalyst.
Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaborate with other engineers and demonstrate teamwork.
Take ownership and accountability for projects, from start to finish.
Learn and adapt to new technologies and changing network environments.
Explain wireless fundamentals, including differences between 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz Wi-Fi bands, and prioritize their use in enterprise deployments.
Discuss 802.11r, 802.11k, and 802.11v enhancements for wireless client roaming.
Conduct wireless site surveys (predictive, passive, active) and validate data for high-density enterprise deployments.
Demonstrate familiarity with the Cisco Wireless Portfolio, particularly the Catalyst 9800 WLC.
Share wireless migration experience, including third-party to Cisco or Cisco to Cisco migrations.
Create complete network designs for Wireless Enterprise setups and manage customer expectations.
Troubleshoot real-time wireless network issues.
Integrate wireless into Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA) fabric and identify common pitfalls.
Develop and use automation scripts for configuring and verifying wireless networks.
Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with Catalyst 9800 Wireless Controllers.
Strong migration experience from Aruba to Cisco or AirOS to Catalyst.
Familiarity with DNAC, SDA, and Meraki (preferred).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Experience with wireless site surveys and high-density enterprise deployments.
Familiarity with Cisco Wireless Portfolio and wireless migration experience.
Design and consulting experience for Wireless Enterprise setups.
Experience with SDA wireless integration and automation scripts.
