We are expanding our operations to East Africa, namely the Comoros Islands and are seeking an experienced and dynamic Branch Manager to lead and oversee the full operations of our Moroni branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, optimizing operational efficiency, managing staff performance, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This position demands a strong leader with a proven ability to manage day-to-day branch functions, maintain
profitability, and uphold company standards of service and discipline.
Role & responsibilities
- Supervise and lead all branch operations, including retail, warehouse, and logistics activities.
- Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales and profit targets.
- Monitor performance KPIs and implement action plans to address operational or financial gaps.
- Manage inventory, ensure stock accuracy, and coordinate with the procurement and logistics teams for
timely replenishment.
- Oversee staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to maintain a productive and
motivated workforce.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining service quality and promptly addressing complaints or
issues.
- Maintain proper control over credit sales, approvals, and customer accounts.
- Coordinate and manage delivery schedules to ensure timely dispatches.
- Maintain showroom and warehouse cleanliness, equipment upkeep, and compliance with company
safety standards.
- Uphold staff discipline, teamwork, and accountability at all levels.
- Prepare periodic performance reports for management review and participate in strategic meetings for
operational improvement.
Preferred candidate profile
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills (English required; French or Swahili is an asset).
- Ability to handle pressure, prioritize tasks, and maintain professional composure in fast-paced environments.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 48 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the retail, hardware, or
building materials sector.
- Proven track record in achieving sales and operational targets.
- Demonstrated experience managing diverse teams across warehouse and retail operations.
- Bachelors degree or diploma in Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred.
