Job Title: Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) – Data Cybersecurity Consultant

Location: onsite presence in Hyderabad region Offices.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead cybersecurity initiatives for our R&D division. This is a consultant role, designed to transition into a permanent position depending on performance and alignment. You will play a pivotal part in shaping and executing a robust data security strategy that aligns with broader Group cybersecurity standards and objectives.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on cybersecurity expert with a strong background in data protection, a keen understanding of the R&D environment, and the leadership skills to drive coordination across a decentralized cybersecurity network.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Execution

• Define, develop, and implement a comprehensive data cybersecurity strategy specific to R&D.
  
• Evaluate existing data security measures and identify areas for improvement.
• Lead the design of frameworks to ensure secure data lifecycle management within complex research environments.

2. Group Alignment & Governance

• Ensure deep alignment and compliance with Group-level cybersecurity directives and governance frameworks.
  
• Act as the primary liaison between the R&D cybersecurity efforts and the Group CISO office.
• Coordinate audits, risk assessments, and reporting processes to ensure group-level visibility.

3. Network Coordination & Leadership

• Establish and manage a network of R&D cybersecurity stakeholders across teams and locations.
  
• Promote best practices, knowledge sharing, and operational consistency within the cybersecurity community.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to local cybersecurity contributors and teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Technical Expertise

• Proven experience in data protection, encryption, threat modeling, and compliance (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, NIS2).
• Strong background in R&D cybersecurity—understanding of intellectual property protection, secure innovation practices, and advanced research data risks.
  
• Familiarity with industry cybersecurity tools and technologies.

Leadership & Strategic Vision

• Past experience in interim CISO or similar senior security roles.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally at executive and operational levels.
• Experience coordinating with distributed teams and managing matrixed stakeholder environments.
