Developer Platform Engineer - Sarvam AIAbout Job

The Sarvam AI Reasoning team is building sophisticated reasoning capabilities for India's first sovereign AI platform. We are seeking a talented Developer Platform Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you'll be responsible for building and optimizing the developer tooling ecosystem that powers our engineering productivity. You'll work with Bazel/Turborepo based monorepos to create efficient build systems, streamlined CI/CD pipelines, and intuitive developer interfaces. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing abstractions that simplify complex infrastructure interactions and enable our engineering teams to deliver features faster and more reliably.

This challenging position offers the opportunity to directly impact the productivity and effectiveness of all engineering teams at Sarvam AI. We seek candidates with strong expertise in monorepo management, build optimization, and developer tooling who can demonstrate technical excellence in creating systems that enhance developer workflow and productivity.

Skills & Qualification

  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field from a top-tier institution

  • 3-5 years of experience in Developer Platform Engineering, DevOps, or related roles

  • Demonstrated expertise with monorepo architectures, particularly Bazel or Turborepo

  • Strong experience optimizing build systems and managing complex dependency trees

  • Proficiency in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for large codebases

  • Knowledge of feature flag systems and A/B testing frameworks

  • Experience creating developer-facing APIs and abstractions

  • Understanding of developer experience principles and productivity optimization

  • Strong programming skills in languages relevant to build systems and tooling

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to gather requirements from engineering teams

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines optimized for developer workflow and productivity

  • Design and implement feature management systems including feature flags and A/B testing frameworks

  • Create custom abstractions and platform APIs to simplify complex infrastructure interactions

  • Develop internal developer portals that enhance visibility and self-service capabilities

  • Optimize build performance and dependency management in Bazel/Turborepo based monorepos

  • Implement tooling for code quality, testing automation, and deployment safety

  • Design and maintain documentation for developer platforms and tools

  • Gather feedback from engineering teams to continuously improve developer experience

  • Measure and report on developer productivity metrics and system performance

  • Research emerging tools and practices to enhance our developer platform

  • Collaborate with security and platform teams to ensure compliance with standards
