Business Analyst

The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Key Responsibilities

• Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
  • Conduct in-depth meetings, workshops, and other elicitation techniques to gather, analyze, and document business requirements from various stakeholders.
  • Translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional and non-functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and process flows.
  • Analyze and evaluate existing business processes, systems, and data to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitate requirements prioritization with stakeholders and manage changes to requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Solution Design & Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Business, developers, and quality assurance teams to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and solution design.
  • Participate in the design and prototyping of solutions, providing business context and ensuring alignment with user needs.
  • Support the technical teams in understanding the business impact of technical decisions and trade-offs.
• Documentation & Communication:
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), user stories, process diagrams, and data models.
  • Communicate complex business and technical concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders on project status, requirements, and proposed solutions.
  • Follow up on BOW items on day to day bases  and help move forward on items without much delay.
• Testing & Quality Assurance Support:
  • Collaborate with QA teams to develop test plans and test cases, ensuring that solutions meet specified requirements.
  • Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) by providing business context and validating functionality against business needs.
  • Identify and track defects, working with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Stakeholder Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering trust and effective collaboration.
  • Act as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and third-party vendors.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate conflict resolution when necessary.

Work Environment

Typically works in an office or hybrid remote environment.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience Experience: 2-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a relevant industry (e.g., Financial Services, Technology, Healthcare). Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
• Experience with process modeling tools (e.g., Visio).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Basic understanding of database concepts and SQL is often beneficial.
• Experience with data analysis and reporting tools is a plus.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.
