Job Description

MACHINE SHOP FOREMAN

Qualifications:


• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.


• Minimum 1-year experience in the relevant field, proven experience as a machinist or machine shop supervisor/foreman.


• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, and equipment (CNC, lathes, mills, grinders, etc.).


• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.


• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.


• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


• Familiarity with safety regulations and Safety Standards.

Key Responsibilities:


• Supervise and lead machine shop personnel, including machinists, operators, and apprentices.


• Assign and schedule work to meet production deadlines and maintain workflow efficiency.


• Monitor and maintain machine shop equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and safe operation.


• Inspect workpieces and final products to ensure they meet quality standards and engineering specifications.


• Train and mentor staff in machining techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.


• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.


• Coordinate with engineering and production teams on job planning, materials, and timelines.


• Maintain inventory of tools, materials, and supplies, and coordinate procurement as needed.


• Enforce safety protocols and promote a culture of workplace safety.
