Responsibilities

  • Cleaning & Maintenance
  • Clean and disinfect patient rooms, wards, ICUs, OTs (under supervision), waiting areas, corridors, offices, and washrooms.
  • Ensure proper disposal of biomedical and general waste as per hospital guidelines.
  • Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and sanitize assigned areas regularly.
  • Refill supplies such as handwash, sanitizer, tissue rolls, and toilet paper.
  • Infection Control
  • Follow hospital infection control protocols strictly.
  • Use appropriate disinfectants and cleaning techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, mask, apron, etc.) while on duty.
  • Report any maintenance issues (leaks, breakages, hazards) to supervisor immediately.
  • Linen Management
  • Collect soiled linen and send it to laundry as per schedule.
  • Store and distribute clean linen to wards and rooms.
  • Handle linen with care to avoid contamination.
  • Patient Care Support (Non-Clinical)
  • Assist in shifting patients when required (non-medical support).
  • Provide clean and safe surroundings to ensure patient comfort.
  • Teamwork & Compliance
  • Attend training sessions on hygiene and infection control.
  • Work cooperatively with nursing, administration, and maintenance staff.
  • Maintain punctuality, discipline, and a respectful attitude toward patients and staff.

Skills

Knowledge of proper cleaning process and material, handling of manpower.
