About the Role

We're hiring a
QA Team Lead
to own test strategy, planning, and execution across manual and automation tracks. You'll lead a small squad, build scalable test frameworks in
Selenium (Java)
, drive
API testing
, and champion
Agile/Scrum
,
SDLC/STLC
best practices, and release quality metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own
    test strategy
    ,
    test plans
    , and
    release sign-off
    for web/mobile/API.
  • Lead and mentor 3–6 QA engineers; drive code reviews, pairing, and training.
  • Build & maintain
    UI automation
    frameworks (Selenium + Java + TestNG/JUnit, Page Object Model, data-driven tests).
  • Design comprehensive
    API tests
    (Postman/RestAssured), schema/contract and negative testing.
  • Establish
    CI/CD
    test pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab); integrate smoke/regression suites.
  • Set and track
    quality KPIs
    (defect leakage, escape rate, automation coverage, P0/P1 trend).
  • Orchestrate
    test data
    and
    environment management
    ; coordinate with Dev/DevOps/PM.
  • Drive
    shift-left
    practices—story grooming, acceptance criteria, testability reviews.
  • Own documentation (test cases, RTM, RCA) and continuous improvement.

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong manual testing across SDLC/STLC; requirements analysis & traceability.
  • Selenium with Java
    (OOP, POM, waits, locators, reusable utilities).
  • API testing
    using Postman and/or
    RestAssured
    ; understanding of HTTP, JSON, auth (JWT/OAuth).
  • Test management & defect tracking (
    Jira
    , Zephyr/TestRail/Xray).
  • CI/CD basics (Jenkins/GitLab),
    Git
    , report dashboards (Allure/Extent).
  • SQL for validation; solid bug investigation and RCA skills.
  • Proven
    team leadership
    : sprint planning, estimation, status reporting, stakeholder communication.

Good-to-Have

  • Mobile automation
    (Appium),
    Performance
    (JMeter/Locust),
    Security
    basics (OWASP).
  • BDD (Cucumber), contract testing (Pact), Dockerized test execution, cloud grids (BrowserStack/Sauce Labs).
  • Knowledge of microservices, message queues, and monitoring (Grafana/Prometheus).

Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech/MCA or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5–8 years in QA with
    2+ years leading
    a small team/squad.
  • Track record of shipping multiple releases with measurable quality improvements.
