Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Advocacy & Policy Lead to anchor advocacy efforts focused on strengthening Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) in India. The role will lead both short-term advocacy campaigns and long-term policy initiatives in collaboration with multiple stakeholders including government bodies, partner organizations, and networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Policy Analysis & Strategy:
  • Develop concept notes and policy briefs to outline key issues, proposed interventions, and desired policy changes. Collaborate with partners to identify and prioritize advocacy goals.
  • Media & Public Engagement:

Publish articles in traditional and digital media; leverage social media to raise awareness and mobilize public support for FLN and ECCE-related initiatives.

  • Government Engagement:

Build and maintain strong working relationships with senior officials in the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Women and Child Development, and state education departments to influence policy and program guidelines.Gather, analyze, and synthesize data and research to inform strategic advocacy and create credible outputs.Strengthen partnerships across networks, government agencies, and stakeholders; facilitate coordinated action to enhance policy impact.Develop and share targeted communications to keep stakeholders informed and engaged around advocacy efforts.Qualifications & Experience

  • Postgraduate degree in Public Policy, Education, International Development, or a related field.

  • 8–12 years of relevant experience in policy advocacy, government engagement, or strategic communications, ideally within the education or development sector.
  • Proven ability to engage with senior government stakeholders and policy influencers.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills; experience producing policy briefs, op-eds, and advocacy materials.
  • Fluency in English (proficiency in additional Indian languages is an advantage).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and coordinate across diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of India's education policy landscape, particularly in early childhood and foundational learning.
  • Experience working with government bodies, NGOs, or multilateral agencies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹1,800,000.00 per year
