Quality Assurance Lead

Position Summary :

We are seeking a QA Lead who is highly skilled, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering high-quality software products.

This role involves owning end-to-end QA activities across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) while working closely with product and engineering teams.

Reporting to the QA Manager, the individual will lead QA efforts, mentor team members, contribute hands-on when required, and ensure quality is embedded throughout the development process.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Testing :

• Build comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on business requirements and user stories.
• Execute various types of testing including functional, regression, exploratory, end-to-end, UAT, smoke, sanity, compatibility, usability, and security testing.
• Perform defect identification, tracking, verification, and closure in collaboration with development teams.
• Act as an individual contributor during critical delivery phases as needed.

Automation & Technical Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain UI automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver with Java.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
• Perform API testing and automation using Rest Assured and Postman, validating functionality, performance, and security.
• Execute database testing using SQL queries to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Leadership & Management

• Lead and manage QA activities for assigned projects or product areas.
• Mentor, guide, and support QA team members in both manual and automation testing.
• Assist team members with test design, test approach, requirement clarification, and defect analysis.
• Promote best practices, quality standards, and continuous improvement within the QA team.
• Support the QA Manager with planning, estimations, status reporting, and risk & Communication :
• Work closely with developers, product owners, and other cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues.
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Provide clear QA status updates, quality metrics, and risk assessments to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8 to 12 years of experience in manual and automation testing.
• Strong expertise in functional, regression, exploratory, and UAT testing.
• Advanced experience with Selenium WebDriver using Java for test automation.
• Hands-on experience in API testing using Postman and Rest Assured.
• Good knowledge of SQL for database validation.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Zephyr, or Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and sprint-based development cycles.
• Proven experience in mentoring, guiding, and leading QA team members.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to balance hands-on testing and QA leadership responsibilities.
