 Role Summary

We are looking for a Manual Tester who is passionate about ensuring software quality through thorough testing practices. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manual testing methodologies, test case design, defect tracking, and close collaboration with development teams to deliver high-quality applications.

Key Responsibilities
1. Test Planning & Execution

  • Analyze requirements, user stories, and functional specifications.

  • Design, write, and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.

  • Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and UAT testing.

  • Identify, document, and track defects using defect management tools.

2. Defect Management

  • Log defects with clear steps to reproduce, severity, and priority.

  • Re-test fixes and perform regression testing to ensure stability.

  • Work closely with developers to resolve issues efficiently.

3. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare test plans, test execution reports, and defect summary reports.

  • Maintain test documentation and ensure traceability to requirements.

  • Participate in reviews of requirements and design documents.

4. Collaboration & Quality Assurance

  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts.

  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives (Agile/Scrum).

  • Ensure adherence to QA processes and best practices.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of SDLC & STLC.

  • Hands-on experience in manual testing of web and/or mobile applications.

  • Experience with test management & bug tracking tools
    (JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, Bugzilla, etc.).

  • Good knowledge of test case design techniques.

  • Basic understanding of SQL and database testing (added advantage).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / IT / Engineering or equivalent.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Exposure to API testing (Postman, Swagger).

  • Basic knowledge of automation testing tools (Selenium) is a plus.
