Job Title: Purchase Engineer Electronics Sector

Summary :-

The Purchase Engineer is responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing the cost of electronic components and materials to support electronics manufacturing processes. This role involves supplier coordination, cost analysis, negotiation, and ensuring timely availability of high-quality components while optimizing costs and maintaining supply chain efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:-

Procurement and Sourcing: Identify and evaluate suppliers for electronic components (e.g. LEDs, resistors, capacitors, ICs, PCBs, inductor, Diode, transistor etc.) based on quality, cost, and delivery schedules. Assist in building and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply chains. Source alternative components to address cost reduction or component obsolescence.

Electronic Costing:-

Conduct cost analysis for Bills of Materials (BOM) and individual electronic components. Track market pricing trends for electronic components and report on cost-saving opportunities. Support design teams by providing cost data for component selection during product development. Prepare basic cost breakdown reports for budgeting and project planning. Detailed knowledge of PCB costing, bare PCB, type of PCBs, EMS process of PCB, Garber file.

Supplier Negotiation and Coordination:

Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, delivery terms, and MOQs (Minimum Order Quantities) under the guidance of senior management. Support the preparation and execution of supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with company standards.

Monitor supplier performance metrics, such as delivery timelines and quality. Inventory and Supply Chain Support: Collaborate with inventory teams to maintain optimal stock levels and avoid shortages or excess inventory. Assist in resolving supply chain issues, such as delays or component shortages.

Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of components. Quality and Compliance: Ensure procured components meet industry standards (e.g., RoHS, REACH) and company specifications. Work with quality control teams to address supplier-related quality issues. Stay informed about basic regulatory requirements affecting electronic component procurement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support engineering and production teams by ensuring component availability for new product proto. Provide input on component specifications and sourcing challenges during project discussions. Assist in cost reduction initiatives through value engineering or supplier diversification.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier agreements, and cost analyses. Generate reports on procurement activities and cost trends for management review. Qualifications and

Education Skill : Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering.

Experience :- 4 -7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles within the electronics industry, with exposure to electronic costing.

Technical Skills: Basic understanding of electronic components, their specifications, and applications. Familiarity with BOM costing and ERP systems.

Proficiency in MS Excel for cost analysis (e.g., basic formulas, data sorting).

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze component costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Negotiation Skills: Basic negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers.

Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.

Other: Awareness of supply chain processes and industry standards (e.g., ISO,IATF).

Reporting Structure: AM Procurement Manager or Supply Chain Manager.
