Job Summary:
The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks while ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within the café or bar area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to standard recipes.
- Greet customers warmly and take orders efficiently and accurately.
- Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other café equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tables, and equipment in compliance with hygiene standards.
- Refill supplies, stock ingredients, and ensure the availability of all necessary items during operations.
- Handle cash, POS transactions, and billing with accuracy.
- Educate customers about menu offerings, ingredients, and brewing methods when required.
- Assist in opening and closing duties, including inventory checks and cleaning routines.
- Uphold company service standards and contribute to a welcoming environment.
- Support team members and assist during peak hours.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar customer service role in hospitality.
- Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, espresso machines, and drink preparation.
- Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum HSC or equivalent qualification.
- Certification in Barista Training or Coffee Art is an added advantage.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
