Your role :

We're looking for a creative and performance-driven Video Editor who can transform ideas into high-retention, scroll-stopping content for social platforms. You'll craft engaging edits tailored for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Ad creatives — blending creativity, storytelling, and performance insights.

What would you do at Khatabook?

• Edit high-quality short-form videos for: Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Ad formats
• Craft engaging motion graphics, text animations, transition effects, and sound design
• Optimize content for vertical and horizontal formats
• Localize edits for regional audiences (Hindi + multilingual appreciated)
• Collaborate closely with: Content strategists, Scriptwriters, Graphic designers, Growth & performance teams
• Maintain brand guidelines across all edits
• Manage multiple projects in fast-turnaround timelines
• Stay updated with creator trends, editing styles, platform algorithms, and retention hacks

What are we looking for?

• We're looking for a creative and performance-driven Video Editor with 3–4 years of experience (preferably in a startup or agency) who can craft high-retention short-form - content across platforms. You should have a strong sense of storytelling tailored for the attention economy and be passionate about experimenting with trends, pacing, and motion to keep viewers hooked.

• Strong command over Adobe Premiere Pro and working knowledge of After Effects

• Hands-on experience with motion graphics, kinetic typography, color correction, grading, and audio mixing
• Proven ability to edit for multiple formats — Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, ads, and vertical/horizontal videos
• A strong creative eye for pacing, tonality, and narrative flow
• Excellent sense of visual storytelling, especially for D2C, e-commerce, or branding content
• Experience working with UGC-style and high-performance marketing edits
• Organized approach to versioning, naming conventions, and asset management
• Ability to deliver 25–50 edits per month with 24–48 hour first-cut turnaround
• Fast executor who thrives under tight deadlines and quick feedback loops

Bonus points:

• Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve and sound design libraries
• Obsessed with platform trends, editing styles, and retention mechanics
• A portfolio demonstrating quick pacing, hook-based storytelling, motion graphics, and short-form narrative editing
