  • Developing New supplier and Transporter, ERP entry verification, Physical stock follow up, wastage return follow up etc
  • Verification on documentation
  • verification of receipt of materials against invoices
  • Follow up with freight forwarders and receipt of consignements intransit.
  • Price negotiation with vendors
  • Facing both internal and external auditing
  • Propose improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business
  • Take the lead in creating profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow-moving stock to help offset losses
  • Manage the company's day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure that all purchasing agents are meeting their personal performance standards
  • Analyse inventory levels, demand forecasts and consumption patterns to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, performance metrics and cost savings to higher management.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience as a purchasing manager.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, strategies and best practices.
  • Demonstrable experience in the Indian market and familiarity with local suppliers and sourcing channels.
  • Strong skills in budgeting, cost optimisation and negotiation techniques.
