About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled Android Lead Developer to join our growing mobile team. You will lead the design, development, and maintenance of advanced Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Android architecture, leadership experience, and a passion for building seamless user experiences. Experience working with maps and location-based services is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end development of Android applications with a focus on performance, usability, and reliability.
  • Build clean, scalable, and maintainable codebases using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Design and implement location-aware features and map-based UI using tools such as Google Maps or HERE SDK.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, UI/UX designers, and backend developers to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Ensure code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and adherence to best practices.
  • Optimize application performance, memory usage, and battery life.
  • Stay updated with the latest Android development trends, tools, and frameworks.
  • Guide and mentor a team of Android developers, providing architectural guidance and technical leadership.
  • Participate in sprint planning, task estimation, and progress tracking.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 6+ years of professional Android development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin.
  • Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose in production apps.
  • Deep understanding of Android SDK, Material Design guidelines, and modern Android architecture components (ViewModel, LiveData, Navigation, Room, etc.).
  • Experience working with map SDKs (e.g., Google Maps, HERE Maps) and implementing location-based features is preferred.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, third-party libraries like Retrofit, Glide, etc.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of mobile app security best practices.

Proven experience leading or mentoring Android development teams.
