About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Private Debt Associate to join our investment team. The ideal candidate will play a dual role — managing and monitoring the existing private debt portfolio while actively contributing to new deal origination and lead generation efforts. The role requires a strong blend of credit analysis, relationship management, and market research skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management:

  • Monitor and manage the existing portfolio of private debt investments, ensuring compliance with covenants and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct regular financial and credit analysis of portfolio companies, including cash flow modeling and performance tracking.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual portfolio review reports for internal and investor communication.
  • Identify potential risks or underperforming assets and recommend mitigation or restructuring strategies.
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams for documentation, covenant tracking, and audit support.

Lead Generation & Deal Origination:

  • Identify and develop new private debt investment opportunities through proactive market research and networking.
  • Build and maintain relationships with investment bankers, financial advisors, private equity sponsors, and corporates.
  • Evaluate new opportunities through preliminary screening, financial modeling, and due diligence.
  • Support in preparing investment memos and presenting recommendations to the investment committee.
  • Track industry trends, credit markets, and sector-specific developments to identify attractive segments.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4 – 8 years of experience in private debt, private credit, investment banking, or structured finance.
  • Strong understanding of credit analysis, debt structuring, and financial modeling.
  • Proven experience in portfolio monitoring and investment performance analysis.
  • Exposure to deal origination or lead generation in the private markets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools.
  • Master's degree in Finance / MBA / CFA preferred.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience working with NBFCs, private credit funds, or alternative investment platforms.
  • Familiarity with mid-market and SME lending, mezzanine debt, or structured credit products.
  • Strong network across corporate finance and private capital markets ecosystem.
