Job Purpose:
To drive sales and business growth in the General Insurance (Motor & Non-Motor) segment by recruiting, developing, and managing a team of insurance agents/advisors. The Agency Manager will be responsible for achieving assigned business targets, ensuring compliance, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment & Team Development
- Identify, recruit, and onboard new insurance agents/advisors.
- Train and motivate agents to achieve sales targets in Motor and Non-Motor insurance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
- Develop agency leaders and build a strong distribution network.
2. Business Development & Sales
- Drive sales of general insurance products (Motor, Health, Fire, Travel, etc.).
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual business targets.
- Generate business through direct and indirect channels.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in the assigned territory.
3. Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with agents, customers, and local partners.
- Ensure high customer retention and satisfaction through prompt service.
- Handle escalations and resolve client issues effectively.
4. Compliance & Process Adherence
- Ensure all sales activities comply with IRDAI regulations and company policies.
- Monitor documentation accuracy and timely policy issuance.
- Conduct periodic audits and ensure ethical business practices.
5. Market Intelligence
- Keep track of competitor activities, product offerings, and market trends.
- Provide feedback to management for product improvement and marketing strategies.

- Business volume (Motor/Non-Motor premium)
- Number of active agents/advisors
- Persistency ratio and renewal retention
- Compliance score and audit results
- Customer satisfaction and service quality
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Graduate / Postgraduate (any discipline; MBA preferred)
- Experience: 38 years in General Insurance / Motor Insurance sales, with at least 2 years in team handling or agency development.
- Certifications: IRDAI License (preferred)
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong sales and negotiation skills
- Leadership and team management abilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of insurance products and IRDAI regulations
- Customer-oriented approach with problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools
