Role Overview
The Back-End Developer will be responsible for building secure, scalable APIs and business logic for the Rehab Information System. They will integrate with front-end modules, manage data flow, and ensure application performance meets the 1,000 concurrent user target.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using / Express or Java / Spring Boot.
• Design and implement relational or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Integrate third-party services (EMR, authentication providers).
• Ensure application security, data protection, and healthcare compliance (HIPAA/GDPR).
• Optimise backend performance for high concurrency and low latency.
• Write unit and integration tests for APIs (Mocha, Jest, JUnit).
• Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in backend development.
• Proficiency in server-side frameworks / Express or Java / Spring Boot).
• Experience designing scalable APIs and database schemas.
• Proficiency in SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and cloud deployments (AWS / Azure / GCP).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred
• Experience building SaaS applications with role-based access control.
• Exposure to load testing and performance optimisation.
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies.
