Back-End Developer (Django)

Location:
Chennai, India.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Back-End Developer located in Chennai. The Back-End Developer will be responsible for developing server-side logic, maintaining databases, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. This role includes implementing security and data protection solutions, optimising applications for maximum speed and scalability, and collaborating with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Django and Django REST Framework
  • Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate APIs
  • Optimise applications for performance, scalability, and security
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning
  • Manage and optimise database schemas and queries

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Python and Django
  • Proficiency in Django REST Framework
  • Solid understanding of PostgreSQL/MySQL and ORM concepts
  • Experience with Git and testing frameworks
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and RESTful API design principles
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Celery, GraphQL, or Docker experience
  • Exposure to AWS / GCP / Azure
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Redis, or microservices
  • Understanding of WebSocket and security best practices

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
