Job Overview

We are seeking a Junior Hospital Financial Counselor to join Spandana Hospital's dedicated team. Based in Bangalore, this full-time position requires 1 to 3 years of experience in healthcare financial counseling. The role demands proficiency in Patient Financial Counseling, Insurance Verification, and Package Explanation, with a focus on supporting patients through the financial aspects of their care journey.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in Patient Financial Counseling (Mandatory skill), assisting patients in understanding their healthcare costs and payment options.
  • Proficiency in Insurance Verification (Mandatory skill), ensuring the correct validation of patient insurance details and pre-approvals.
  • Experience in Package Explanation (Mandatory skill) to accurately convey treatment packages and associated costs to patients.
  • Strong background in Medical Billing with experience in processing and managing payments and claims efficiently.
  • Understanding of Electronic Health Records to access and manage patient records accurately and confidentially.
  • Knowledge of Financial Assistance Programs to guide patients in applying for aid and resolving billing issues.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with patients and team members.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing financial documentation and patient data.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive financial counseling to patients regarding their medical bills and payment options available.
  • Verify and validate patient insurance information to ensure coverage and manage any denials or discrepancies effectively.
  • Explain treatment packages and associated costs to patients, ensuring they have clear understanding of their financial obligations.
  • Collaborate with medical billing departments to ensure accurate processing of payments and claims.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate electronic health records for financial transactions and patient information.
  • Assist patients in understanding and accessing financial assistance programs to support their treatment costs.
  • Work closely with the administrative team to ensure smooth financial operations and patient satisfaction.
  • Address any patient queries or concerns related to financial matters in a professional and empathetic manner.
