Role & responsibilities:

Operational Management

  • Ensure timely vehicle arrangement for deliveries across pan-India locations.

  • Monitor and improve logistics KPIs such as OTIF (On-Time In-Full), freight cost per unit, and delivery lead times.

  • Oversee freight consolidation and optimize routing to reduce costs.

  • Manage freight budgets, track variances, and implement cost-control measures.

Vendor & Financial Coordination

  • Handle vendor payments, ensuring adherence to agreed terms and timely processing.

  • Lead freight rate negotiations and finalize transport agreements with vendors.

  • Evaluate vendor performance and maintain a preferred vendor list.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure proper documentation for all shipments including PODs, invoices, and transport contracts.

  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and statutory regulations.

  • Maintain records for statutory and internal reporting.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor regional logistics teams involved in transportation.

  • Coordinate with warehouse, sales, and finance teams for seamless operations.

  • Drive training and development initiatives for logistics staff.

Strategic Initiatives

  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in transportation.

  • Collaborate with IT/ERP teams to improve transportation visibility and tracking.

  • Support digital transformation initiatives in logistics (e.g., TMS, GPS tracking, e-POD systems).

Preferred candidate profile

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight negotiation, transport agreements.
