Software Sales Specialist

Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Software Sales Executive to handle business development and account management for government sector clients. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in selling IT/software solutions to government departments, PSUs, or public institutions, with a strong understanding of government procurement processes and tendering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and manage business opportunities within the government and PSU sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, procurement teams, and key stakeholders in government organizations.
- Drive end-to-end sales cycle – lead generation, solution presentation, proposal submission, negotiations, and closure.
- Monitor government portals for RFPs, RFQs, and tenders; prepare and submit bids/proposals accordingly.
- Collaborate with internal technical and pre-sales teams to deliver customized solutions.
- Achieve sales targets, revenue growth, and expand market share in the government vertical.
- Stay updated with government policies, IT initiatives, and digital transformation projects.
- Ensure timely collection of payments and maintain compliance with organizational processes.
Key Requirements:
- MBA with specialization in Marketing/Sales (mandatory).
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in software/IT sales, preferably in the government sector.
- Strong understanding of government tendering, GEM portal, and procurement processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build long-term relationships and drive consultative solution selling.
- Willingness to travel as required for client meetings and government interactions.
