Project Leader

Job Description: This position is responsible for designing and maintaining electrical systems for

drilling products with following responsibilities,

 Electrical system design for new product development including power supply system

(380V-1000V), 24V control system.

 Experience of high voltage (up to 1200Vdc) electrical component integration, design &

development on products, particularly HV & LV systems and sub systems.

 Experience in compliance engineering to external standards, such as battery handling,

EMC, vehicle safety, functional safety

 Experience of working with HV components such as inverters, DC-DC converters and

chargers.

 Experience in a model-based development languages such as Matlab/Simulink

 Familiar with laboratory & field development & test equipment

 Experience in DFMEA for Electrical components

 Control panel layout design, Operator panel design, Cable harness design

 Maintenance and continuous improvement of electrical systems for existing products.

 Support to other functions such as sourcing on find right supplier and solving technical

issue, production workshop issue and aftermarket on field issue.

 Write testing protocol for new developed electrical systems, and support on function test

and field test.

 Understanding of Automotive electricals, electrical components, power & signal distribution

system

 Should have work experience in Vehicle Program level engineering support activity

 Should understand various vehicle electrical components and their functionality (Alternator,

starter, battery, fuse box, wire connector, terminal, relay, fuses, etc.)

 Understanding component selection (wire sizing, fusing, grounding selection) also the

associated components (eg. Fuse box, voltage drop & short circuit understanding)

 Should have knowledge about manufacturing process of wire harness parts

 Awareness of VA/VE techniques, cost reduction, optimization & feasibility verification

 Prepares project documentation and participates in design review at various design phases

 Co-ordinate with global R&D team for the projects & work independently.

 Ensure execution of tasks in strict compliance with operating procedures and deliver defect

free output on time.

 Work on PDM/PLM systems associated with Engineering release processes & systems

 Performing\checking and approving design calculations as required

 Performing\checking BOM changes and ECNs

 Self-checking and presenting the work for internal and external reviews

 Value addition and suggestions for improvements as applicable

 Addressing the customer queries and handling customer feedback

 Performing internal reviews and External reviews if needed.

 Onsite support during proto build and testing if needed.

 Reporting to the Manager\Project Leader in a timely and efficient manner

 Complying to company policies and follow company values and business code of practice

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 10-15 years of experience in Electrical Engineering

 Teamcenter - PLM

 AutoCAD Electrical

 Creo Cabling

 PLC programming – Ladder logic, Structure text

 MATLAB Simulations
