About the role

This is a managerial role that cover Financial Controllership and Tax stewardship for one of the Tesco India Subsidiaries Omnisol. The role expects to oversee Finance and Tax related operations and compliances end to end. Prior experience in start ups will be an added advantage.

You will be responsible for

Financial Operations & Controls

  • Oversee monthly financial close processes (familiarity with closing modules such as HFM, ARCS, FCM or similar ones will be considered an advantage) across AP, FA, PA, AR, GL, and Cash Management.
  • Ensure robust internal financial controls and take corrective actions when needed. Should possess technical knowledge in this space in terms of genesis and the requirements as per regulations.
  • Manage end to end statutory, internal, tax, and transfer pricing audits to ensure timely completion and work towards securing a clean audit report.
  • Manage treasury operations ,fixed accounting ,working capital management and related accounting.
  • Review customer billing and cost recharges. Monitor the same for budgeting and auditing purposes with complete audit trail and understand rationale for such billings.
  • Ensure timely supplier payments with full regulatory compliance (FEMA, GST, MSME, Tax).
  • Work with the vendor /internal Technology teams to implement systems and technology as needed by the Organization.

Compliance & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Ensure adherence to local laws and regulations (RBI, Direct/Indirect Tax, Corporate Law, Transfer Pricing).
  • Should possess expert knowledge in the areas of dealing with Tax related assessments for Direct, Indirect and allied regulations such as Transfer Pricing.
  • Should have in depth working experience around areas of filing returns such as WHT, ITR, GST related filings, Tax Audits and the like.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Group Finance, HR, Admin, InfoSec, and other departments on finance-related matters.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including suppliers, customers, banks, auditors, and government authorities.

Tax Strategy & Litigation

  • Lead local tax planning aligned with business goals; monitor legal changes and assess impacts.
  • Ensure timely tax filings, payments, assessments, and refund processing.
  • Manage tax claims, litigation, and coordinate with consultants and internal teams for accurate data.
  • Stay updated on judicial rulings and industry trends to identify tax-saving opportunities.
  • Represent the company in tax matters before authorities, alongside advisors.

Experience

  • Chartered Accountant with 8+ Years experience in Industry
  • Financial Controller for a company with revenue streams.
  • Experience with Big 4 Audit Firms / Startups / Mid sized Orgs
  • Excellent process setup and management skills
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity and quick decision making
  • Ability to communicate to a wide range of stakeholders with varying levels of understanding
  • Working experience of Process Improvement and Risk based management
  • Strong commercial and retail acumen
