About the Role

At
VOLT IQ
, we are building an
AI-driven Copilot for Hardware Engineering
that fuses
semantic search, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and multi-model orchestration
to deliver intelligent, context-aware assistance.

As an
Applied AI Engineer
, you will be at the center of this mission, working on
LLM integration, semantic embeddings, NLP pipelines, and RAG systems
. You'll design and optimize AI workflows that make engineering knowledge instantly accessible and actionable—transforming the way engineers interact with complex systems and data.

This is a hands-on role that blends
research, system design, and production deployment
, giving you the opportunity to shape the future of AI-powered decision-making in engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy
    LLM-powered workflows
    , including semantic search, embeddings, and RAG-based architectures.
  • Develop and optimize
    NLP pipelines
    for extracting, structuring, and reasoning over engineering knowledge.
  • Experiment with and integrate
    cutting-edge AI/ML frameworks
    into the Copilot platform.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and domain experts to solve real-world problems with AI-driven solutions.
  • Analyze large-scale datasets to surface insights and continuously improve model accuracy and performance.
  • Contribute to AI
    infrastructure, orchestration, and deployment pipelines
    for production-ready systems.
  • Stay at the forefront of
    AI/LLM research and innovation
    , applying emerging methods to practical use cases.

Required Skills & Expertise

  • Strong programming skills in
    Python
    ; knowledge of
    C/C++ or MATLAB
    is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with
    LLMs, semantic embeddings, vector databases, RAG frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex), and NLP libraries (e.g., Hugging Face, spaCy)
    .
  • Solid understanding of
    machine learning and deep learning algorithms
    , with experience in model training, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
  • Experience with
    data-intensive systems
    and big data tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, analytical thinking, and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Familiarity with
    Agile/Scrum methodologies
    and collaborative development practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in
    Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field

  • 3–5 years
    of applied experience in AI/ML development, NLP systems, or LLM-driven applications.
  • Strong foundation in
    mathematics, statistics, and computer science fundamentals
    .
