Role Overview

Greenated Clima Tech is looking for a hands-on, mission-driven Plant Head to lead the operations of our Biochar Production Facility in South India. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in field operations, understands biomass processing technologies, and is passionate about climate tech and carbon removal. The Plant Head will play a crucial role in overseeing day-to-day activities, team leadership, and operational excellence, with a focus on sustainability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily operations of the biochar production plant, ensuring optimal throughput and adherence to product quality.
  • Supervise and guide plant personnel; manage shift planning and productivity.
  • Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental standards are met consistently.
  • Oversee machinery, perform regular maintenance checks, and troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics for the timely inflow of feedstock and outbound shipments.
  • Maintain detailed records of production, inventory, maintenance, and reporting KPIs to central management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and ensure resource optimization.
  • Support data collection and monitoring relevant to carbon removal verification processes (e.g., Verra, Gold Standard).
  • Contribute to sustainability and climate resilience targets through efficient operational practices.

Qualifications & Background

·       Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Production, or related technical field.

· –5 years of experience in plant operations, manufacturing, or renewable energy/biomass projects. Biochar or pyrolysis experience is a strong advantage.

·       Proven leadership and team management abilities in a field/plant environment.

·       Experience in working with safety standards, SOPs, and maintenance protocols.

·       Familiarity with carbon markets or sustainability metrics is a plus.

Preferred Skills

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·       Excellent communication and reporting abilities.

·       Fluency in English is essential.

·       Proficiency in any one South Indian language (Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, or Malayalam) is mandatory.

Willingness to be based at the plant site and travel within the region if needed
