Azure Data Engineer

About The Opportunity
We are hiring an experienced Azure Data Engineer to design, build and operate scalable data ingestion and transformation platforms on Microsoft Azure. You will work on end-to-end data solutions—ingestion, transformation, storage and consumption—collaborating closely with analytics, data science and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, secure and performant data products.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks and Spark to process batch and near‑real-time data.
  • Build and optimize data models and data storage using Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 and Azure Synapse Analytics for high-performance analytics workloads.
  • Develop PySpark/SQL transformations, ensure data quality, implement partitioning and performance tuning for large datasets.
  • Deploy and manage infrastructure as code (ARM/Terraform), implement CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/Git) and automate deployments for data platform components.
  • Implement monitoring, logging and alerting (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics) and troubleshoot production incidents to maintain SLAs and data reliability.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and BI engineers to operationalize models and deliver self-service data products with clear governance and security controls.

Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have

  • 3+ years hands-on experience building data solutions on Azure (ADF, Databricks, ADLS Gen2, Synapse).
  • Strong PySpark / Apache Spark and T-SQL skills for large-scale data transformations.
  • Proven experience with ETL/ELT patterns, data modelling, partitioning and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows and infrastructure-as-code (ARM/Terraform).
