Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Independently handle litigation and arbitrations to ensure compliance of notices Appear, Represent, Defend cases before various courts including Tribunals, High Courts and Supreme Court and other judicial and quasi-judicial fora.
  2. Understand the facts and dispute, collate all the necessary paper.
  3. To brief lawyers/Solicitors the case with facts, applicable provisions of law.
  4. Discuss & evaluate legal options in the interest of the Company.
  5. Liaise with lawyers for timely & speedy movement of the cases and arbitration.
  6. Study and facilitate the finalisation of plaints, replies, documents for cases & arbitration.
  7. Attend courts and arbitration proceedings.
  8. Train concerned persons in the units and in handling of notices
  9. Entries of the notices to be made regularly.
  10. All the notices to be attended within the prescribed time limits
  11. To effectively use legal case management platform, and create awareness in the business.
  12. Review existing agreements being used at the unit / business and modify the same as per the changes in law and the requirement of the business
  13. Prepare new standard commercial and legal agreements as per the requirement of the business in consultation with Head Legal.
  14. Validate documents and business deals for legal compliance
  15. Evaluate and ensure due diligence in legal aspect including leave & license, lease, purchase of immovable properties etc
  16. Advising units / business on the importance of performance of obligations & consequences of breach of contact.
  17. Agreement & Contract Preparation and Management.
  18. Review existing agreements being used at the unit and modify the same as per the changes in law and the requirement of the business
  19. Prepare new standard commercial and legal agreements as per the requirement of the business in consultation with Head Legal.
  20. As and when required participate in negotiation of key business contracts to protect the interest of the Company
  21. Validate documents and deals for legal compliance
  22. Evaluate & ensure due-diligence in legal aspect including L&L, lease, purchase of immovable properties
  23. Advising units on the importance of performance of obligations & consequences of breach of contact.
  24. Analyse applicable provisions of law, research applicable judicial pronouncements
  25. Provide legally valid and tenable advice
  26. Consult Head Legal in important matter and if advised, take external opinion.

Key Skills:

  1. Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  2. Strong organizational/project management skills, ability to handle high volume and balance competing demands.
  3. Ability to develop and maintain solid client relationships and to influence decision makers at all levels.
  4. Confidence and experience translating complex legal concepts into practical solutions to guide business people.
  5. Ability to work successfully in a matrixed, team environment.

Qualification:

LLB / LLM from Tier - I and Tier II Law institute in India.

Experience:

Qualified/licensed lawyer with 7-10 years of general corporate and banking and finance experience in a major law firm, large multi-national corporation or equivalent.
