Supervisor (AIIMS Patient Shelter Home)

We are looking for a proactive supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day management and smooth functioning of the Patient Shelter Home, ensuring a safe, clean, disciplined, and compassionate environment for patients and their attendants. The role requires a strong community-service mindset, empathy, and the ability to work closely with patients, staff, volunteers, and hospital authorities.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Operational Supervision:

  2. Oversee daily operations of the shelter home including accommodation, cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.

  3. Ensure proper allocation of beds/rooms to patients and attendants as per guidelines.

  4. Maintain discipline and orderly conduct within the shelter premises.

  5. Staff & Volunteer Management:

  6. Supervise housekeeping staff, caretakers, security personnel, and volunteers.

  7. Assign duties, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to duty schedules.

  8. Promote teamwork and a service-oriented work culture.

  9. Patient & Attendant Support:

  10. Act as the first point of contact for patients and attendants staying in the shelter.

  11. Address grievances, concerns, and basic needs with empathy and sensitivity.

  12. Guide residents regarding shelter rules, timings, and facilities.

  13. Coordination & Communication:

  14. Coordinate with AIIMS hospital administration, NGOs, donors, and community groups.

  15. Assist in organizing community service activities, awareness programs, and welfare initiatives.

  16. Ensure smooth communication between management, staff, and residents.

  17. Record Keeping & Reporting:

  18. Maintain records related to occupancy, staff attendance, inventory, and incidents.

  19. Submit regular reports on shelter operations to the management.

  20. Health, Safety & Compliance:

  21. Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and health standards.

  22. Handle emergencies calmly and report incidents promptly to authorities.
  23. Support implementation of policies related to patient welfare and shelter management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum Graduate (Preference for Social Work / Humanities / Management).
  • Prior experience in hostel, shelter home, hospital support services, or community work preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of empathy, patience, and compassion.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive situations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or emergencies.
  • Basic computer knowledge for record keeping.
