Role & responsibilities

1. Electrical Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems, motors, control panels, transformers, and switchgear.
  • Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns in production areas (ammonia plant, urea plant, bagging section, compressors, pumps, conveyors, etc.).
  • Maintain lighting, wiring, and distribution systems across the plant.

2. Equipment Installation & Commissioning

  • Assist in installation, alignment, and testing of new electrical machinery and control systems.
  • Support commissioning activities for new equipment and process units.

3. Control Systems & Instrumentation Support

  • Work with instrumentation and automation teams on motor control centers (MCC), variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLC panels, and control circuits.
  • Ensure calibration and proper functioning of interlocks, sensors, and alarms related to electrical safety.

4. Safety & Compliance

  • Follow electrical safety standards (Lockout/Tagout, permit-to-work, PPE use, arc flash precautions).
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with company and statutory safety regulations.
  • Report unsafe conditions or equipment hazards immediately.

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain records of maintenance work, spare parts usage, and electrical test reports.
  • Support preparation of maintenance logs and breakdown reports for review by supervisors.

Preferred candidate profile

  • ITI in Electrician Trade or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • 25 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a fertilizer, chemical, or process plant.

Knowledge of:
- LT/HT systems, motors, MCC panels, VFDs, PLCs, and relay logic.
- Industrial wiring and control circuits.
- Preventive maintenance systems and electrical safety standards.
